Getting Started with The ProAACtive SLP

Getting started is easy! The ProAACtive SLP provides AAC, speech, and feeding therapy services for children, teens, and adults. Services are available in-home in the East Bay area and online to clients located anywhere in the State of California.

1

Contact us for your free 30-minute consulation. You will speak directly with Carrie to discuss your concerns, have your questions answered, and determine the best next step.

2

Attend your first session. We typically begin with an evaluation to understand your child's unique abilities and challenges and to guide our treatment planning.

3

Following the evaluation, we will review the results. When therapy is recommended, families are directly involved in the development of a treatment plan and personalized goals.

4

Once therapy begins, we will take regular data to monitor progress. Home practice programs will be provided to encourage progress between sessions.

Carrie is one of the most creative and innovative Speech Pathologists my son has worked with.

Carrie is one of the most creative and innovative Speech Pathologists my son has worked with. We started seeing Carrie when he was 2 years old. Working with children can be a challenge because they don't often cooperate as you'd like. But Carrie always found a solution. Noah had a great year with her and his speech dramatically improved. Her genuine care for others is beyond this world. She empowered me to take on more activities at home that would spark an interest in Noah meanwhile exercising his vocabulary more. She has made an extremely positive impact on Noah's life and we are forever grateful to her.

She's an SLP who actually cares and was one of the best apraxia therapists we've seen.

I wanted to come on here and recommend Carrie Balick if anyone is looking for an apraxia-specific SLP. She was my son's therapist and was honestly the BEST. She's an SLP who actually cares and was one of the best apraxia therapists we've seen to help our son. She came prepared for each session that was specific to our son and actually listened to my concerns. I really can't recommend her enough! My son is doing amazing and still talks about her.

You can tell she really loves the kids she works with. If we had to do it all over again we would pick Carrie in a second.

We have so many good things to say about Carrie. When we found out our daughter couldn’t get speech therapy through the schools we started researching private providers. She was recommended by several people and we agree 100% with that recommendation. Our daughter loved her time with Carrie. She made it fun and super special every week. You can tell she really loves the kids she works with. If we had to do it all over again we would pick Carrie in a second.
